Mid-Century Great Room
They wanted to update and refresh their family room to be airy and sophisticated to reflect their empty nest lifestyle, and to complement their NEW screened-in porch. To be a room that gives a sense of sitting outside, while being indoors. So we decided to keep a whisper of sky blue paint as the foundation for the new décor, for the room to feel relaxing and uplifted, contemporary and cozy, and be inside while communicating to the outside.
Our palette was also repeated in the chevron pattern fabric on the custom made bench. We loved this piece because it discreetly allowed for extra seating while entertaining, being wide enough for seating on both sides, and smartly does not block the view of the television!
The coffee table was custom made to be sleek, earthy, and rugged enough for shoe'd feet.
.
Its curved lines were essential to prevent shin bruises. The accent orange arm chair was specifically chosen for comfortable reading with excellent lumbar support. And the textured rug was designed to be very soft on the feet (a client must have;) as well as neutral, so all of the room’s bold colors and patterns could shine!
