The owners of this home located in the Matthews Beach neighborhood of Seattle came to us with a request to help them rework their kitchen, living, and dining room, and design updated bathrooms. Common in many 90’s homes, this house was full of funky angles and slightly broken up spaces on the main floor. The owners wished for the kitchen to be a more open and fluid space for entertaining as well as everyday life. To achieve that goal, we designed a kitchen that was open to the living room and dining room with an island that seats 6. A built-in bar was also added adjacent to the sitting area to add extra storage and a place to mix drinks out of the kitchen. Fireplaces in the living room and family room were updated with new finishes and gas inserts, and new hardwoods tie everything together. The powder bath was given a major facelift, and the primary bath was updated to include a new freestanding tub, shower, and other finishes throughout.
