This Historic Maywood residence is located on a secluded wooded lot. The new design was driven by two primary goals. Strict Maywood Design Guidelines require the house, as seen from the street, to remain essentially in tact and unchanged. In spite of the large addition, all new work had to seamlessly integrate with existing. Secondly, all new living spaces should take full advantage of the large south facing side yard and views. The 1-story dining wing provides privacy and screens the larger rear addition from the street. Clustered windows in the family room provide panoramic views. The entire addition is carefully detailed to integrate all aspects of the new house with the old. A two-car garage is discretely tucked to the rear and out of site.
