Mid Cent Mod Ashtray

With no project too small for JGSLA, this 1950’s ashtray inspired fire pit furnished this small San Clemente courtyard with a fun art piece to be enjoyed in both the interior and exterior spaces of the home. Bordered by exposed aggregate concrete and further surrounded by a heavily polished concrete, this modern take 1950’s style livened the once dull space with new textures and colors. Poured in place concrete pavers embedded in 3/8” lava rock lead one into the home office space and bring another modern twist to this era inspired design. A vibrant planting palette supplied the space with even more architectural interest and mid century modern design play.
