Our client hired us to update her dated fireplace. Her home is midcentury modern so we suggested fireplace design that will be in style with her home but also add a modern vibe to the entire space. We selected tile that features geometric shape that says midcentury modern, as well as simple and modern ebony stained mantel. We added built-in bookshelves on the sides of the fireplace as the second stage of the project. The shelves are painted light gray to contrast the dark fireplace, and make it stand out. To stylize the shelves, and bring in the source of light, we added picture light in bronze finish above each shelf.
