Although the kitchen space was large enough (just over 200 SF), the cabinets were shoddy, the range and sink were too close together, sink too small, storage was inefficient and poorly organized and the peninsula blocked the kitchen from the living area. The peninsula barrier was replaced with a 4-seat baking station island so the family can enjoy their holiday baking together. The design aesthetic of this open plan condo is warm modern with straight lines and mostly muted colors to allow the couple’s art collection to shine. From the beginning of design and throughout the project, clients and design team were committed to sustainability, including converting from gas range to induction.
