Modern rustic master bathroom

The master suite was reorganized to improve flow and privacy and the bathroom layout was reconfigured to improve function. By lowering the bathroom ceiling to 8' - 6", the exaggerated angle of the ceiling is less noticeable and the space feels bigger. A large steam shower replaces the whirlpool and the window above it. A skylight installed on the long, short wall brings in more daylight than the former window. The door was relocated from the middle of the room to the end allowing for an 8' double sink vanity. By relocating the vanity to the regular height wall, medicine cabinets and 3 sconces on dimmers flanking the mirrored cabinets could be installed. A half wall at the bathroom entrance provides some privacy for the toilet.

Materials (slate, glass, honey onyx, limestone, lyptus wood and brushed stainless) were all selected to support the "clean-lined modern rustic" style. The white wall tile brightens the space and the 4x16 size adds a modern feel. The light wall color, continued onto the ceiling, plays a complementary supporting role to all the colors.
