This amazing project is located south-east of Parker, Colorado. A new in-ground swimming pool was added behind the existing house, and enclosed in a retractable glazed enclosure which operates at the push of a button. A 3000 square foot porcelain-tiled upper level deck extends out from the house to where it meets the pool enclosure with a glass railing. Four foot square walkable glass skylights flush with the deck surface allow light into the casual living space below. Cultured and natural stone veneer add to the ambience of the space, along with concrete unit pavers. Curving steel staircases on each end of the deck are provided with stainless steel railings which provide a high-tech counterpoint to the stone. Cedar tongue-and-groove plank paneling on the underside of the deck adds visual warmth. Color changing LED light coves under the deck contribute a playful quality.
