Even when you build a new home you may find things that you would change later. The kitchen in this 2002 home always felt crowded and the dining room felt detached from the activity in the main great room. The family knew that the space needed to be changed but not the path to accomplish it. The original concrete patio was a great location to expand the dining room space. The biggest challenge was what to do with the remaining space to correct the flow of the home. By finding the right contractor, that showed an innovative spacial design, the project could move forward.

Moving the kitchen into the old dining room area, adding on to the laundry and lengthening the existing pantry angle created the traffic flow and storage space that was needed.
New products were selected based on ease of use to keep the homeowners in the space past their future retirement. New LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring was installed in 95% of the first floor for easy maintenance. The darker oak Shiloh cabinetry creates a warm contrast with the flooring. A dropped snack area allows for the use of standard height chairs when eating or doing work at home. LED can lighting was added to supplement the recycled pendant lights from the original kitchen. The door and windows from the original kitchen/dining room were also recycled and included into the dining room addition. What an enjoyable finished space to use for family and friends in years to come!
