This award-winning project involved converting a worn, tired master suite into a haven for the homeowners to enjoy for years to come. The last area of their home to be remodeled, their starting point was a plan that an architect had prepared a number of years earlier. By retaining the general configuration of the suite, the architect failed to realize the full potential for the space.
With the homeowners’ permission, the Weidmann team started fresh. After clarifying the project objectives in detail, alternative concepts were developed to facilitate a discussion aimed at producing the best space for the clients and their home. Focusing on design solutions to meet both their short term goals, as well as accommodate the changes that naturally come with time, the bathroom and
closet areas changed locations, accessibility features were incorporated into the layout, additional closet space was created, and the office area became a cohesive part of the suite. Finishes and furnishings completed the picture and the clients got a space they love.
