This is the first super matte grey lacquered finish we are aware of in Arizona, and we're proud to be on the cutting edge of contemporary design with this offering! We came across this Luxe product made in Spain, and couldn't resist getting into this in our showroom... and finally onto our client's kitchen cabinets. As you can see, this finish is a super matte... meaning it's duller than a satin paint finish. This allows it to absorb a ton of light and keep excess brightness and reflection low. In some of the photos you can see the finish almost sucks in the the light; allowing the surface color to truly show through.

This project was completed in a very conservatively-sized home, making the impact in the space all the more powerful. Additionally, the homeowners were looking for something more soft and natural than the "run of the mill" high gloss cabinetry that is in virtually all American contemporary remodels. You see, this finish has become more popular in European kitchens, and is already made it's way into the high end German and Italian cabinetry lines- yet we have it here at a discount to the brand names pricing.

Custom built by An Original in-house, we couldn't be prouder of this project and look to do more matte contemporary kitchen cabinets in the future. Some more of the detail includes what is becoming our signature stainless steel "reveal" between finished panels on the island backs and peninsula backing. The end cabinet panel on the peninsula is actually a functioning cabinet, allowing access the blind corner often found in kitchen cabinets. This way, the homeowners were able to design a virtually "all drawer" space, with only a pullout trash and a handful of base cabinets with doors for tall items storage. We added 2 matching pantries and this was a keen direction to take with the remaining kitchen layout. We're happy the clients trusted us to help direct them in the right way on their kitchen storage needs.
