This client came to Renaissance Remodeling with the desire to remodel their home interior. It was determined that the owners would need to move out of the home for this project – so they began looking for a suitable rental for themselves and their many pets. Rentals are very hard to come by and even harder to find when the area of choice is already densely populated as the Boise North End is these days.

It was suggested that we could build them a new garage (also on the future wish list) with an apartment on top. They could then move into their own “rental” and be very cozy and close by as we worked on the main house remodel.
Our challenge for this project was to give the clients as much of a “home-experience” as possible in a small space. We gave them a full L-shaped kitchen layout and an actual separate room for the bedroom. We also added some sound insulation in the interior bedroom wall for day napping.

This home is more of a classic cottage style with modern conveniences. The beautiful picket tiles in the kitchen are reminiscent of classic old-world style but seem to add a modern twist on this little cottage design.
