Elegant Lake House Kitchen

The client purchased the home from the original owner. They wanted to keep the charm of the elegant lake house but update the kitchen to the 21st century and open it to the living areas of the house.
Changing the footprint - opening the ceiling, removing the wall pantry and opening the walls between the rooms - created a better flow and function to the space.
There were some challenges with the electrical when we removed the soffit and the ducting for the hood. We needed to create more storage to make up for the loss of the wall pantry and provide enough cabinet space for all their dishes as they cook and entertain a lot. Sarah managed to squeeze in a ‘magic corner’ that would have been empty, so they can use the entire corner for their pots and pans. She also designed the garage cabinets to hide away their small appliances and used corner wall cabinets to provide as much storage as possible.
The result is beautiful and compliments the character and charm of the home as well as their furniture, décor and lakeview.
