Project Scope & Objectives
The clients have lived in their home for several years, counting down the year they would take on remodeling the whole house… they already had a couple of their own trades they wanted to use but inquired with us for help with design and the remaining services. The kitchen was small and not very functional to accommodate their love for cooking as a family and entertaining. A large island with plenty of seating and workspace was a big requirement as well as a new walk-in pantry with a solid wood door and Coffee Bar/area. They knew they wanted a two-tone kitchen with white painted and wood tone cabinetry.

Challenges & Solutions
The long island was a challenge with the amount of seating and support for the countertop. The solution was the use of L brackets as well as steel support brackets.
The Results
The Final Kitchen which opened into their living room made a true living area with a more open and functional kitchen. We accomplished the two-tone kitchen by accenting the island, cabinetry hood, and pantry door with warm wood and the perimeter cabinetry painted white creating a bright and warm kitchen. The dark gray backsplash, matte black and stainless finishes gave the space a modern industrial touch. They have more counter space and seating, and enough space to entertain and have multiple cooks in the kitchen. The coffee bar replaced the old kitchen nook was. Removing the nook provided better flow with the island seating.
