Garden along the St. Lawrence River
This property is on Wellesley Island on the St. Lawrence River near Clayton NY.
Here we had the opportunity to work in collaboration with Grater Architects, of Clayton NY.
The house was completely rebuilt by the architect's plans that included a separate guest cottage. The level change through the site was considerable (35 feet) and problematic as the property can be entered from the low side of the site, the River dock, and the high side, the road to Wellesley Island.
The gardens that weave through the site are small and colorful throughout the year and designed for maximum enjoyment and entertainment.
This garden is featured in a book by Julie Messervy titled 'Landscaping Ideas that Work' printed by Taunton Press.
