A modern contemporary landscape using native plants, trees & shrubs that makes it relatively low maintenance and drought resistant. The open meadow on the bank heading down to the house is planted with wild flowers and grasses for minimal mowing. Climbing Hydrangea plants self attach to the concrete retaining wall with three varieties of ornamental grasses along the top.
Formal Beech hedges are planted in rows running parallel with the house and Paper Bark Maples trees are planted in openings within the hedge forms. Both hedges and trees provide year round color and winter interest with the copper leaf color and exfoliating bark. The hardscape materiel palette is minimal using used blue stone, gravel and concrete.
