History Transitionalized

The eclectic taste of our clients came together in this transitional kitchen that was long overdue. Being in a historical home the homeowners wanted to feature some of the details reminiscent of the original home. Some of these details along with upgrades to the kitchen include:

- Enlarging the existing kitchen space and using it to create a small powder room off of the living room.
- Stacked cabinets with multi-layered crown molding above accentuate the taller ceiling height.
- White 3 x 5 Matte subway tile for a timeless element of design.
- Glass lit wall cabinets for a traditional detail and decorative showcase.
- Antique brass hardware that offers a touch of color to the ivory and dark espresso stained cabinets.
- Large apron front sink in the center of the island and across from the commercial style range.
- Wine cooler situated at the end of the island for ease of use when entertaining.
- Small conversation area by the bay window, which lets in abundant sunlight.
- Beadboard paneling that surrounded the perimeter of the room, with touches around the island.
- Granite countertops with veining that offers movement.
- Knotty pine flooring to match the existing wood flooring through the remainder of the house.

By adding more square footage and taking advantage of the height of the room, the homeowners now have a much better use of their kitchen. The fresh feeling this kitchen portrays gives anyone who enters an instant mood booster with the brightness of the space. The cheerful and airy selections give life to a timeless kitchen that is sure to be enjoyed for years to come.
