This family home in Awatukee was in need of renovation from the original builder’s design 25 years ago. The biggest alteration was to remove the partial wall between the kitchen and family room as well as the shortening and removal of soffits. The existing island was painfully small, so the wall removal allowed for a much bigger island. The pantry closet was replaced with tall cabinetry pantries instead.

The indigo blue island serves as the anchor among the various shades of white throughout the space. The glossy herringbone backsplash tiles highlight the furniture style range hood.
The champagne bronze finish on the pulls, plumbing fixtures and pendants elevates the space. The cleaning zone above the sink is punctuated with a pair of stylish sconce lights.
A hospitality zone was created where the original kitchen desk function was to better match the family’s lifestyle. Open floating shelves in a cocoa stain echo the color from the hood banding detail.
