Our clients had lived in Belgium for many years, acquiring an enviable collection of European antiques and a refined appreciation for all things traditional European. The husband loves to cook and both enjoy entertaining formally. They needed an new kitchen design to improve the workflow and allow the two of them to work together comfortably. The completed project was featured on the ASID Kitchen Tour and in Midwest Home magazine.

Moving the refrigerator gained unbroken counter space on each side of the new Wolf cooktop. Unable to remove the soffits due to extensive mechanicals inside, we worked around them, wrapping the hood over it to the ceiling.

We redesigned the laundry/mudroom to accommodate a full-wall pantry, so the original pantry closet could be converted into a recessed double oven cabinet.

We found a place in another room for the small antique tall cabinet our clients had been using for display, and in its place we designed a wall of furniture-style cabinets to add storage, house some special pieces and serve as a buffet/beverage bar. The backsplash is antique mirror.
