Tailored Transformation: Kitchen

A failing range prompted this kitchen remodel. Natural light and backyard access were great but a more efficient layout was needed, including counter seating for the family of four. The envisioned look was tailored, traditional with a touch of modern, and Asian accents.
Budget restrictions precluded major layout changes but small changes---straightening the angled sink, centering the cook top, breaking the soffit for a range hood, and extending the peninsula---all provided big benefits. Two splurges were the Honey Onyx cook top wall and the walnut dining counter, both inspired by Asian accessories.
This project was featured in a StarTribune Sunday Homes article. It also was awarded the Specialty Award for Budget Friendly Kitchen from MN Chapter NKBA and a Regional NARI award.
