Meyerland Modern Kitchen
This home had the typical Houston ranch-style kitchen, which was an enclosed galley style kitchen with a peninsula and adjacent breakfast area. We opened up the wall between the kitchen and family room and added a large eat-in island area. Every inch of space was taken advantage of. Shallow cabinets on each end of the main countertop can be used for glassware and canned good storage. A chef's pantry was built-in to the right of the refrigerator. Rift-sawn oak was used to build the island and upper cabients, and birch was used for the paint grade lowers. The appliances are GE Cafe series and the countertops are Caesar Stone. Backsplash is from Dal Tile. Bamboo floors were installed to match what the homeowner already had in the adjacent family room.
