We have worked for this Clawson client in the past. This year, he wanted to add a pergola to go above his Outdoor Swim Spa as seen here.

After pulling the necessary permits, we dug the necessary post holes, filled them with Cement, and built him a new Pergola constructed out of treated wood.

The material above the joists will give additional shade yet still allow a certain amount of natural light at the same time. We recommend waiting at least 30 days to apply either a paint or stain to the treated wood.
