Statement Kitchen and Bath Remodel in Piedmont

It all started when the homeowners fell in love with the fabulous seven- foot long cherry red Aga range with five ovens, four gas burners, and a warming top. It was followed by a vision of an organized, efficient, and eye catching space to cook, dine, and do laundry in.

A busy wife and mother of three was lacking all of these things due to a dysfunctional kitchen layout that was not effective for the family’s dynamic lifestyle. The premium cooking equipment was a “must have” for this kitchen.

After a hands-on experience with the cooker in Aga showroom, she fell even more in love with it. With such an extraordinarily large appliance and limited kitchen space, along with a budget constraint, the designers had challenges in front of them.

By removing existing walls to open up the space, adding more cabinets, countertops and the “must-have” appliance, the clients’ vision quickly became a reality.

The corner closet was closed to accommodate the L-shape continuous counter and all the corners were angled in order to create a better traffic flow through the kitchen.

The new efficient windows replaced the original three in the breakfast/dining nook and existing laundry room. A new door was installed to fit the new décor and also create a better connection to the back patio. This multi- functional kitchen space was completed within budget by the following: using Quartz counters to mimic the look of Carrara Marble, retaining and refinishing existing hardwood floor, and keeping washer and dryer open instead of covering them with doors. Also, two windows were retained ,and wall and tall cabinets didn’t reach all the way to the ceiling in order to lower the cost of the remodel.

All the clients’ needs were met: aesthetics, quality, efficiency, and all within the price range.
