Stylish Chelsea Apartment Makeover

A one-bedroom apartment underwent a stunning makeover that brought it into the modern age with a well-planned and cohesive new layout. The redesign included a perfectly laid-out kitchen, a brand-new bedroom and bathroom, and a display area for a treasured collection of Art & Design objects. The pièce de resistance was a custom-designed bed with ample concealed storage space provided by sizable drawers underneath.

The interior walls were reconfigured to create a dressing room, complete with a walk-in closet, full-length mirror, and an impressive array of built-in cabinets. The wood-framed pocket doors with inset frosted glass added a touch of elegance to the room's design.

The kitchen renovation focused on functionality, beauty, and safety, with top-of-the-line appliances including a Sub-zero refrigerator, Gaggeneau range, convention oven, and microwave, Miele dishwasher, and 180-cubic-feet of under-the-counter storage, all outfitted with Hefele appliances and magic-corners. Touch-latch storage drawers built into an existing display niche and hidden behind lovely pocket doors were a particularly clever design move. A petite pantry was set into a small space off the kitchen, a few steps from the apartment entrance door, making the space both accessible and functional.

In addition to the kitchen, the apartment also features several other smart design elements, such as in-wall devices, retractable home-office cabinets, and a hide-away laundry hamper, as well as an atmospheric integrated vaulted ceiling with high-performance LED lighting design that transformed the dim space into a coherent and vibrant home.
