A wrap around garden with fabulous water features!
TNLA Award wining Garden! This home is tucked into the lovely neighborhood of Montrose in Houston. It was renovated with a very light and airy modern inside with lots of windows. We created a garden full of vignettes to be viewed from different windows in different rooms all the while making it a cohesive garden to enjoy while outside. The plantings are a mixture of natives and acclimated and will have a naturalist style once they are grown in. It is going to be low maintenance and with the drip tubing in all the beds, very low water need too! The front right of way would not grow grass so we changed it into a naturalist bed with a mix of boulders, gravel and hardy plants. This leads us to the front garden with retaining walls and clean lines. Behind the flanking Chinese fringe trees there are gates on each side. To the left you will find a more modern hardscape with straight path that leads you to a large patio. The other gate leads you to a winding path up to the other deck. There is no back garden but the two spacious side gardens offer plenty of room to walk or sit and relax. We enlarged the entertaining area on one side with a water permeable patio using cement pads and rainbow gravel. The rainbow gravel is used through out to tie all the spaces together. I could go on...but hopefully a picture is worth a thousand words. This home and garden are real gems!
