The home owners felt the old pool was not meeting their needs. They have teenagers and really wanted to have an outdoor space to spread out in. The grandparents live next door and the idea was to take down the fence between the yards and connect them in a way that it would not be difficult to put the fence back up in the future is need be. They wanted a pergola with a solid roof. We came up with a pavilion idea that has a cupola that acts as a vent for the space. The plants are low maintenance with a mix of native and acclimated. The hardscape is all in shades of gray which has a cooling and calming effect. The over all feel is contemporary with a mix of naturalist. The are Sweet Olives behind the fountain that will grow in and provide privacy from the back neighbors.
