If you have a slope or low spot in your yard where water flows or collects, you can fix the issue with a dry creek bed. A creek bed, also called an arroyo, is a shallow bed filled with gravel, boulders and stones of various sizes. And then planted with plants that are fine with wet and dry conditions. During rainy weather runoff water is channeled down the stream bed towards an outlet or collection place where the water can percolate down into the soil. This helps prevent pools of water or soggy grass in this case near the pool.
