Bordenkircher Transitional Residence
The family of 4 had overgrown their 1949 ordinary cottage style ranch. The living room demanded a full makeover, the front door was located far from the drive way, the kitchen seated 6 people but their was no dining room to entertain a large number of guests, and the entire family shared a hall bath. Their desire was to create not only additional living space, but a modern floor plan representative of their lifestyle today, along with exterior curb appeal.
How we solved the clients needs:
- Designed a new sidewalk system and front door location with a covered porch to provide an attractive and accessible main entrance and eliminate the original, unused, front door.
- Create a foyer for the new main entrance of the home.
- Built a 500 sq. ft. home addition, expanding the kitchen into the kitchen/dining room combo, and creating a master suite with it's own bath, walk-in closet, and larger bedroom.
- Installed new flooring, window treatments and furniture, and painted all rooms on the main level.
