Bringing outside inside

The removal of a deck opened up the home to the outside backyard with one step out to a new double patio that spanned the entire back of the home, allowing the homeowners to walk out into the landscape from several rooms. The existing Locust Tree was secured with the circular knee wall, providing secondary seating areas.

Austrian Pines that were planted 20 years ago,developed the needle blight called Dothistroma, caused by the fungus Mycosphaerella pini. Attempts were tried to treat the Pines, but eventually they had to be removed. The lower branches were cut away first and then the trunks came down, piece by piece.

After the Austrian Pines were removed, these neighbors had no privacy anymore.
