After three attempts to get the grading right, we set in a new set of stairs that joins into the older step paths that were built earlier. Spreading yews and vinca fill in for now.

The new stairs offers a complete circular circulation through the upper patio, down into a lower shelf and back up again.

New Plantings are constantly added. This area is definitely a survival of the fittest landscape.

After many experiments , Carex Ice Dance and these Royal Ferns seem to stand up to the task of erosion control.

After 15 years of growth and tremendous temperature swings, it was time to replace and renew. The patio was lifted and cleaned, along with new Boxwood. The home also got a scrubbing after the old planting were removed.

This area needs constant re adjusting, soil additions, weed control and plant additions.
