This owner built planter was lined with fabric cloth but the bottom is open to the ground to allow for the Japanese Maple Bloodgood to continue rooting into the ground. The container was filled with compost and peat moss.

The Japanese Maple and Weeping Hemlock were installed last year. We left the Annebelle Hydrangea and added Azaleas, Spirea, Endless Summer Hydrangea and Hicksii Yew as foundation plants for the winter.
