Eclectic Art Lovers

Dining Room
Objective: The client’s previous home was French county and they were ready for something new and fresh. They asked us to create something more updated and eclectic but still warm and comfortable.
This dining room is the center of this home and is used for casual family dining as well more formal gatherings. The argyle quilted leather on the aluminum clad dining chairs works beautifully with the large stainless and reclaimed wood table.
The pierced stainless chandelier with crystals and a hand-blown glass case of orchids add soft feminine touches to the clean masculine lines of the table. The dining room floats in the center of this large gather space atop an antique Persian rug acquired by the homeowners while traveling. Bold original art and an adjacent wine bar that does double duty as a serving counter during dinner parties completes the room.

Hearth/Family Room
Objective: The client asked us to take a small space that had previously been a breakfast nook and create an intimate hearth room.
The huge aluminum framed mirror reflects the husband’s love of aviation and vintage aircraft. The suede, leather and chrome chairs were inspired by Arne Jacobsen’s signature Egg chair and provide very comfortable seating for the homeowners to enjoy a glass of wine and view outside. The fretwork door cabinet, clad in silver, serves as a bar cabinet and the red leather chairs, brought down from another room in the home, provide extra seating for intimate conversations.
A tufted ottoman was placed in the center of the small space within reach of everyone in the room and sits atop a rug made from pieces of hair-on steer hide saddle stitched together.

Living Room
Objective: The client asked us to bring this room together using art and furniture pieces that had been purchased from us over the course of a couple of years. They wanted the space to feel “collected” and wanted plenty of seating for family and guests to gather.
The new tufted leather sofa and hair-on-hide bench, combined with existing club chairs and gorgeous frame chairs in linen brought from another room, provide comfy seating for eight to ten people to gather to watch sports or just enjoy the fireplace. The mirrored cocktail table adds a touch of modern to the space and is perfect for displaying books and accessories. Rather than clutter the floating shelves flanking the fireplace with “stuff”, we displayed favorite pieces of artwork, books and collected items from around the world. The muted rug adds softness and subtle pattern and ties the space together while the giant eight ball sculpture punctuates the room with character and whimsy.

Master Bedroom/Suite
Objective: After renovating the master suite and expanding the closet, the client asked us to bring the three rooms together aesthetically.
New bedding gave a fresh look to the existing bed while new lamps were added to the existing bedside table. We added a comfortable pair of chairs, accent table and cocktail at the foot of the bed for the couple to read and watch television.
A locally designed accent table was placed beside the soaking tub to hold a glass of wine while relaxing and planters were added behind the tub to give airiness and a touch of green to the neutral space. Laid out before the soaking tub is a patchwork hide rug softness underfoot.
New saddle leather slipper chairs with stiletto feet in the dressing area of the master closet give a subtle nod to the wife’s love of shoes and handbags while serving as a comfy seat to put on shoes or even give wardrobe approval to each other before heading out.
The three rooms that make up the master suite now feel cohesive and serve as an oasis for the busy couple.
