Dining Room

Objective: These clients loved their home and its location but felt the dining room was disconnected and therefore rarely used. They asked us to create a plan for a new dining room that would be more inviting and open to the kitchen and great room.
By removing existing sliding doors and replacing a patio with a new addition, we were able to create a casual yet elegant dining room that feels original to the home. The new eyebrow arched entryway opens to a light filled space with windows on three sides and a dramatic vaulted shiplap ceiling. The brick pavers on the floor add a vintage feel to the new space while a custom built-in buffet and hutch combo give plenty of storage and display space for dishes. The custom banquette surrounding the reclaimed wood dining table along with additional dining chairs give ample seating for the growing family to entertain. The room is elegant enough for hosting dinner parties for friends yet durable enough for the children to work on projects while mom is in the kitchen.
