Our clients wanted to update their single family home in Reston in a style that better reflected the contemporary architecture of the house. The family enjoy open-plan living, but the existing kitchen was too closed-off from the other spaces. We completely opened up the entire first floor by removing a wall from the kitchen to the family room and making it feel like a much larger, cohesive space.

Cool, modern paint tones bring a feeling of calm and freshness to the home, contrasted against the dark brown tones of the hardwood flooring. The design features clean lines, but maintains the comfortable, welcoming and warm feeling our clients wanted. With an active family, storage space for sports equipment was a must, which was delivered with new mudroom cubbies leading from the garage door entrance.
