Hancock Park Residence

Located within the historic charm of Hancock Park, this distinguished brick and wood residence, designed by renowned architect Allen Siple in 1938, underwent a thoughtful transformation to harmonize its storied past with modern luxury. The project centered on reimagining a cramped, 75-square-foot second-floor bathroom and an outdated first-floor roof structure, both of which were meticulously replaced with a serene 375-square-foot suite tailored for the homeowners’ daughter.

Originally a dim, utilitarian space in disrepair, the new suite now features a spa-like bathroom, a refined dressing area, and a walk-in close crafted with dual functionality in mind. While currently serving their high school-aged daughter, the space will gracefully transition into a master bath upon her departure for college, ensuring lasting elegance for years to come.

The Ann Sacks tiles elevate the aesthetic with patterned mosaic marble floors and walls adorned in Thassos marble, arranged in a timeless subway-style wainscot. Rich stained mahogany cabinetry provides warmth, while Waterworks fixtures deliver understated sophistication.
Every detail, from the window treatments to the proportions of the addition were carefully curated to respect the home’s original 1930s character, ensuring a seamless blend of old and new.
