Kits Beach

After living in her Kits townhome for more than three decades, our client was craving change. While she was living in a world with a dark filter on the interior of her home, a bright and clean makeover would bring in the light she never knew she needed. A transformation from top to bottom was necessary and the results made for a nearly unrecognizable home. We completely gutted the space, taking out walls, adding structural beams and a few new windows. Once construction was complete we finished the space by adding furniture, decor and art.

Once a traditional staircase and carpeted floors, the foyer soon became the welcoming gesture the home so desperately needed. Replacing the railing with a fresh face of glass and repeated whitewashed oak expanded this entrance to its full potential. Underneath constantly drawn curtains lay the homes largest source of natural light. Once uncovered, an underutilized space grew into what is now an open hub for entertaining and lounging alike. Creating a more casual dining area was achieved through the use of a custom banquette and built in wine rack, of course. The kitchen was cut off from the surrounding areas and was asking to be included. Removing a wall and expanding the kitchen now allows for the perfect wine party. Quartz counters and bright neutrals reflect the style of the rest of the main floor, complimenting the new open-concept living area.
