Monroe Makeover

This was a delightful interior design project that happend to include a kitchen. Managing the light effects, working with the client's artwork and creating a soft, inviting enviorment that would blend with the new furniture pieces were the key drivers. The cooking and storage requirements were very specific but the overall goal was to make this their favorite place to be.

Fireplace view. The mesh on the upper cabinets plays off the mesh detail on the fireplace screen. Wrapping the linen tile around the fireplace gives is prominance and visual strength. The ribbed glass on the door offers privacy with light and keeps the energy from draining away.

Similar view with the blinds up. The new finish on the table and chairs complements the soft colors used (SW China Doll on walls and Alabaster on trim). Furnitiure and stools are from Crate and Barrel.

View from the fireplace to the kitchen. We picked up the geometry of the walnut drybar with the upper section of cabinet doors and also paired it the the cabinets flanking the fireplace.
