To connect the inside with the lake view the old windows had to go.

The footprint stayed largely the same but the kitchen was so '80's and nowhere near the modern look the clients wanted.

This was the cabinetry just off the entry. We wanted a complementary furniture piece instead of more kitchen

Stealth brackets under the counter provide support for the overhang.

The clean lines are modern but the extensive use of visual texture allowed this modern look to be right at home in the natural setting outside.

Using the laminate on the doors and drawer fronts allowed us to create a grain-matched look. The paneled refrigerator kept the stainless from disturbing the visual flow and composition. The sink is a black granite to match the island top.

This is a complementary piece that we used between the foyer and kitchen. An artistic, modern element that would set the stage for the kitchen behind.

We floated the cabinetry on this piece, gave it unique hardware and stepped the cabinet faces so the space

The upper doors subtley reflect back the kitchen cabinetry on the opposite wall.

We did not change the fireplace but converting the two double hung windows to the right to a large fixed glass just pulls you outside. You immediately feel how the colors and texture on the fireplace face and beam pair up with the trees.

The leathering and suble white markings on the top were a perfect fit for the kitchen. Note the black granite sink.

The new picture glass created a panorama and instant feeling of being on the water. With cross ventilation on the two side doors, we did not need screens. The railings were changed from picket to cable railing style.

This view of the water was the inspiration for the design.
