This historic home in North Park had all the charm of the era, but was too small for the young growing family. Keeping in accordance with the requirements of the Historic Preservation Review we were able to give this home a second story featuring a nursery and master suite, while also opening up the main level and expanding the kitchen for a more open concept. The homeowner loved the Craftsman feeling of the home, but wanted to modernize a little for a mixed aesthetic. Subway tiles and hexagons were used in larger formats to play with the traditional shapes found in early 1900's homes, while the color palette was kept simple and clean to accentuate the wood elements throughout.
