Having the opportunity to use space from the living room opened up a world of possibility for a new more open floor plan with an improved circulation. By swapping the dining room with the kitchen and removing all the walls that defined those spaces we were able to create a spacious open floor plan that allowed for visual connection from room to room.
Taking advantage of San Diego’s year around mild climate, we installed La Cantina doors in the family room so they can extend the use of the room out to the adjoining rear patio. The existing fireplace and mantle was retained, the original brick work covered by a contemporary tile.
