The owner of this property wanted to demolish the existing small house and build a new 7,500 square foot family home. The lot was on a very steep hillside. In the design we took advantage of the hillside and of the stepping down of the adjacent houses to capture a spectacular east facing view of the San Francisco Bay. This view was along one of the long sides of the house and this allowed us to have this view throughout the house on multiple floor levels.
