When we first saw this playroom, we, too, were unimpressed with the space. The kids (ages 9 months to 5 years old) were bored with the toys and didn't want to spend any time in this basement playroom. Encouraging creative play and exploration is always our top priority. To achieve this, we changed the closet door to a half-door to create a market stall. We converted interior closet shelves to animal cages and we modified the fireplace and created a stage. After a variety of open-ended materials were purchased, the room was transformed into a stimulating and inspiring play area for all to enjoy!
