12 Gables

This large infill corner lot was developed in a manner that creates both grandeur and privacy. The home’s L-shape configuration ensured that rear yard intimacy would be created. The resulting long facade provided a canvas upon which many architectural elements could be placed. The numerous steeply pitched gables exposed themselves in various forms and materials throughout. The mix of natural stone and board and batten siding was chosen to downplay the home’s inherent scale while providing architectural variety on all facades. However the true success of the home is the extent to which it co-exists with much smaller surrounding homes.
