Modern Landscape
This family home finds itself nestled in a steep hillside in southeast Oakville. The hill presented an interesting design challenge, inspiring a home that blends seamlessly with the unique landscape, as if it were always meant to be there.
With the hill sloping towards the rear of the property, the goal of the design was to smoothly transition a two-storey home at the front into a three-storey at the back. The modern style offered flexibility in the layout: an open-concept plan connects living spaces in an airy, uncluttered environment that flows from floor to floor uninterrupted. In the exterior, a balanced massing and thoughtful landscape design, including tiered built-in planters and integrated landscape walls, give the home a sense of harmony with itself and the property.
