This early-1800s rubblestone farmhouse was built by Irish Protestant settlers in the Port Hope/Peterborough area. Between 2009 and 2016 several stages of renovations were undertaken by Home Reborn. The entire interior was gutted to bare stone walls, reinsulated, vapour barrier applied, and re-drywalled. Then, historically correct matching casing and baseboard trim was applied to all windows, doors and walls. Both the original kitchen and bathroom were renovated, and two new bathrooms were added upstairs. A large dormer was added to the master bedroom in 2016. On the exterior, The original windows, shutters and shutter hardware have been restored; a sunroom, deck and hot tub was added; a walk-out porch was added to the master bedroom; and the entire house was re-roofed with steel roofing.
