This 33-foot long x 16-feet wide shed dormer addition was constructed in 2015 as an addition to a ca. 1820 stone farmhouse (and its ca. 1886 red brick ground floor summer kitchen) near Port Hope, Ontario. The addition creates a large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and guest bathroom. The load-bearing ridge was constructed as a built-up plywood and 2x4 box beam structure, much lighter than a built-up LVL beam as would usually be employed in a structure like this.
