Accessible Portland Bathroom Remodel
This bathroom remodel transformed a completely unusable bathroom into a sleek and functional space. We had to gut the whole room and patch several places that had dry rot damage, and rebuild the room from scratch. We saved and reused the original sink, shelving, and grab bars to help stay within budget. A big focus for our client was accessibility, so we installed a new walk-in shower with multiple grab bars and space for a shower chair to maximize the usability of the space. We also installed both a rain head and hand-held shower wand to make bathing easier, both independently or with assistance. We framed in a shelf in the shower for easy access to bath products. The style for this space was simple, bright, and clean. To achieve this, we used a white subway tile on the shower walls with a semi-frameless shower door, and a gray-scale hexagonal tile for the floor of the bathroom to add some dimension to the room. We painted the whole space and installed both a new vanity light and a new motion-sensor overhead light.
