Bluebird Hill Bathroom
The existing master bath was dated with a tiny shower and platform tub. The space felt dark and cave-like due to inadequate lighting and one small window. Furthering the claustrophobic feeling were the overwhelming architectural details- archway, columns, and three piece crown which weren’t suited to the scale of the bath. Our clients both have extensive back issues and their existing bath was doing little to curb these problems. They wanted a therapeutic bath, inspired by a recent mountain retreat they described as the best shower experience of their lives. A spa-like shower, with extensive body sprays and multi-purpose shower heads set the bar for this design. This design features a freestanding soaking tub within the wet room; directly across are five strategically-placed body sprays and three individual shower heads, each with a specific purpose and experience. By housing the custom shower within the wet room, we were able to increase vanity storage without compromising flow. The frameless glass and full coverage top to ceiling mirrors worked in tandem by creating an inviting, spacious feel throughout the space. Key finishes and patterns worked harmoniously with one another, while adding a unique element of contrast in both vision and feel, beautifully illuminated by an array of natural, task, and decorative lighting.
