An underutilized room off the kitchen served one purpose, laundry. The room had a large footprint but failed to truly capture the functionality this homeowner wanted from their laundry space. Because of it’s proximity to the kitchen and backyard, we wanted to create a new multi-purpose room, that still housed the laundry and it’s necessary accessories, in addition to being a fully functioning and aesthetically pleasing bar space. This space would allow for overflow from the kitchen when entertaining, which the client requested. We included a concealed drawer dishwasher, trash pullout, as well as a stackable washer-dryer and a pullout for all the laundry necessities. We replaced the single hinged door to the patio with a 5' glass slider, to allow for an abundance of natural light to fill the space. This new and improved space functions beautifully for the client. She can multi-task in this multi-purpose space! And who doesn't need a drink when doing laundry?!?
