Ellie was fantastic to work with and we couldn't be happier with our new kitchen. We hired her hoping that she would be able to transform the space and she did an incredible job. Our kitchen feels twice as big as it used to and is so much more functional than it previously was - not to mention absolutely beautiful. She was also great at working with our general and subcontractors to make sure the process was smooth and the end product matched our vision

I thought I had some ideas about how to remodel our primary bathroom, but was feeling a little overwhelmed and tied to the footprint that already existed. Elizabeth came in and gave me ideas I could never have envisioned and helped us create a beautiful space. When I was overwhelmed by the idea of choosing materials, she came to my rescue, connecting me with vendors and even going with me to pick tile and help create a tranquil space. She was available to answer my questions as I went and talk me off the ledge when it seemed like too much to contemplate. The result was a spa-like retreat that was exactly what I wanted. Everyone who sees our bathroom is impressed by how gorgeous it is and notes the small touches that Elizabeth helped me to choose. She was worth every penny. I recommend her without reservation.

We worked w/ Elizabeth to do a complete walk-out basement finish of about 2000 sq ft, including 2 bedrooms, 2-3/4ths baths, a great room, and an office/play area, as well as a workshop and workout room. It was a big project and we could not have done it w/out Ellie creating the interior architectural plans for us to then take to multiple contractors to obtain bids. We worked w/ a contractor she suggested (gave us 2 to interview) and multiple vendors w/ whom she had relationships and agreements for special pricing. The plan allowed us to avoid most change orders (and increased expenses) as she laid out detailed plans in advance. The contractor and his trades had 98% of what was needed spelled out for them. It was a pleasure to work w/ Ellie. She listened to our wish list and then created multiple plans from which to choose and refine. I don't think most contractors have the time or skill to create complete architectural plans as Ellie did for us, and having a plan in advance allowed us to compare apples to apples in the different contracting bids we obtained.

I cannot say enough good things about Ellie. We hired Ellie to help us with a unique renovation to a house we know will not be our forever home. She was very thoughtful in her designs and put the most effort in the areas that would see the greatest return. Her designs were so much more intricate than I thought possible. Every detail was thought about to create a design that was seamless and very functional. We were renovating our small galley kitchen and her designs actually removed a couple of cabinets to open the space and make it feel more custom. I was a little worried that it might be too small, but she promised it would not be. After moving back in, we actually have an EXCESS of cabinet space. She excels at created spaces that are much more functional than their previous versions. Because we wanted to keep budget in mind, we were unsure about fully renovating a bathroom and she reassured that if we wanted to leave it minimally renovated, she could make it look nice. In the end, we decided to fully renovate it, but I appreciated that she was not pushy. This was our first renovation, so I would often rely on Ellie to keep me straight on decisions that needed to be made quickly or when purchasing something that was completely outside of my breadth of home renovation knowledge (like a hood vent insert!). She would always provide several options and let us pick. She was a wonderful resource to have after the initial design phase because guided us in our purchases to ensure the look all tied together. She often told me, "I won't let you make a mistake" and she didn't. I love that Ellie advocates for her clients during a confusing process and speaks up if she thinks something is off. We would recommend her to anyone looking to renovate their home or is seeking design advice! She is the best!

Elizabeth is simply the best. There are many times my husband and I said that if we could only keep one person on the project and had to fire everyone else she is the one we would keep. She was always able to answer questions and several times talked me off the ledge. She always found a compromise even when my husband and I seemed very far apart. We had a very large project and we had no idea what we were doing, but she made it better than we could have expected. She really listened and took a lot of the leg work off our plate and even when we wondered where the design choice was coming from we listened and then seeing it when it came to life just couldn't believe we ever doubted her. We did not want someone to just come in and pretty up the space we truly needed someone with a vision to redesign the space and update it from that 70's look and function to how we live today. Elizabeth's experience in construction management and design means that she understands so much more than a normal designer and makes it easier for any construction team to understand her vision and be able to execute it. She was also great about telling us when our taste was going over budget and offer a less expensive alternative, but left it to us and our judgement. She would tell us if we asked if she thought it was worth the cost and I don't want to do any remodels without her. I have already recommended her to friends and family.

Elizabeth took a non functional bathroom and closet, and turned it into my favorite room in the house My bathroom is beautiful and my closet went from feeling cramped to being spacious, She has the designer eye combined with the structural knowledge to maximize the space Ellie assisted every step of the way and quickly answered any questions as they came up. I would recommend her 100% and have to many of my friends.

When our summer cabin flooded and needed to be totally redone, I knew the one person to call. Elizabeth Lord had helped a few years ago on my kitchen remodel and she made the daunting task of making hundreds of decisions fun. She came through again at the cabin. With every conversation and session, I would feel more confident that not only was our cabin going to be put back together correctly, I also knew that I was going to love the outcome of all of the changes and updates. From paint color, to faucets, to lighting, to flooring, to countertops, etc.: Elizabeth is the master of design. We absolutely love our kitchen remodel. Ellie was wonderful to work with and we wouldn't have such a beautiful kitchen without her design and consulting. We had an excellent experience working with Elizabeth and we will hire her again! She helped us remodel our master bathroom. She designed the space, which required rearranging everything to accommodate what we wanted, including adding a water closet and tub. Her design knowledge and years of experience were apparent. Even our contractor commented that her plans were more thorough and accurate than he was used to seeing. This was our first remodeling project and Elizabeth's guidance was very valuable. She introduced us to vendors, met us at showrooms, recommended retailers for our fixtures and gave us thoughtful feedback as we selected materials and fixtures. Elizabeth was referred to us by our realtor. We had a very dated master bathroom and very small closet which we wanted to enlarge. Elizabeth listened to what we were thinking and came up with three plans for us to choose from. We chose the one we liked the best and proceeded. Our experience was excellent start to finish. She had a variety of resources and everything fell into place; from flooring to shower tile, to plumbing fixtures, new bathtub, mirrors and lighting. Everything was well organized and her design drafts and specifications were easy to follow by the contractor. We now have a new, modern master bathroom which is very relaxing and has a spa feeling. The new larger closet is much more usable. We are continuing to work with Elizabeth on a new guest bathroom and paint colors for the house. Her ideas were spot on with our tastes. We were so happy to have had Elizabeth and everything she had to offer.

I am not sure where to begin with providing a review of our experience working with Ellie! Of the first things that stand out is Ellie’s professionalism, timeliness and creativity. She took our ideas of remodeling our existing bathroom and adding a bathroom to our primary bedroom and made it a reality better than we could’ve dreamt up! Ellie couldn't have been more helpful! Choosing a new color palette for our home was overwhelming to us so we had Ellie come over and give us a color consultation. She gave us the insight and clarity we needed to update the paint and carpet for our entire house in 1 hour. She saved us so much time and energy.

I consulted with Elizabeth for our kitchen and floor remodel and would highly recommend her for any project. I wish I would have contacted her earlier! She was able to step in mid-project and offer invaluable advice. My husband and I had some ideas already on the color scheme for our kitchen and floor but needed someone to pull it all together and she more than did that for us. She also gave great inexpensive ideas on other pieces of the remodel that we could do ourselves such as white washing our brick fireplace. We also refinished our hardwood floors which would have been stressful to choose the right color for the entire first floor but she worked with our flooring contractor to try out different colors and we are thrilled with the end result! Even our contractor said some designers can be a pain to work with but she was delightful! I will definitely use Elizabeth in the future for all remodeling projects!

I hired Elizabeth to help me with my new home. Initially, I hired her to attend some of the showings of various houses I was interested in purchasing, in order to consult on construction projects and costs before narrowing down and picking the house. Once purchased, she came in and not only consulted on furniture layout, paint and some priliminay updates, but created a priority list, along with detailed design for the kitchen, which we can complete next year. Ellie was awesome at helping me shop for furniture and choose the perfect layout for my condo. Exactly one year ago while traveling out of the country, I received word that there had been a fire at my house. I immediately returned to find my beloved home gutted. Such circumstances leaves one feeling like the rug has been pulled out from under their life. Five months later, as the basic structure and roof were completed, I was introduced to Elizabeth by my contractor. I had always felt hesitant about designers thinking that their choices would more to their taste than mine. I could not have been fruther from wrong !! I immediately felt bonded to Elizabeth as we walked through the still shell of my home. She was encouraging and supportive and seemed to instinctively understand my needs and my style. Elizabeth was the first light in what had been a dark tunnel of loss. Over the months, her vision and talent became more and more apparent to me. Elizabeth was a major collaborator in the design and decoration of our completely custom home, built in 2014. She is incredibly professional, has great style and was price conscious at the same time. She has tremendous knowledge about kitchen design for functionality and beauty. She's great at color, as well. She excels at helping you express your own personal style tastefully, without forcing her opinions. My husband was skeptical of using a designer as he had worked with someone in the past whom he felt "ripped him off." He actually loved working either Elizabeth and trusts her so much now that he requires we still get her opinion before making any big furniture purchases! We truly, truly love our home and couldn't imagine ever living anywhere else, Elizabeth was instrumental in making our dream come true.

We found Elizabeth on Houzz and had a meetup with her after speaking with a couple of other designers. We immediately felt a good connection and loved Elizabeth's energy, knowledge, and flexibility. After hiring Elizabeth, we emailed design ideas back and forth, which culminated in a final floor plan meetup. Elizabeth was able to present alternatives and we came out with a floor plan we absolutely loved. We also utilized Elizabeth's extensive knowledge of suppliers in Denver and shopped with her multiple times. She was excellent to work with and was always ready to go with lots of suggestions and the willingness to discuss what we wanted and why. For example, we thought we wanted granite, but we had seen some soapstone when we were first shopping. After some research, we set that idea to the side, but after speaking with Elizabeth about it, she suggested a supplier and we visited to check it out. After seeing what they had to offer, we were sold. Now that the kitchen is finished, we are thrilled with the soapstone and are so glad that she encouraged us to rethink and reevaluate our choice. This is just one example of how her input was invaluable throughout the process. She also suggested the contractor that we ended up working with and he was amazing! Really, without Elizabeth this whole project might never have gotten off the ground. We simply cannot recommend Elizabeth enough. She was professional, knowledgeable, fun, relaxed, and incredibly helpful. Certainly, when we are ready to embark on our master bath/closet redesign, we will be contacting Elizabeth again!

We had moved into a new apartment, and this apartment had a number of built-ins and walls that left us pondering how to best decorate without creating that "busy" feel. I initially contacted Elizabeth for help designing the layout of my mudroom/laundry room. She solved all my problems in about 15 minutes and then asked "what else ya got?!" I'm so glad she did! After uncovering multiple design flaws in our kitchen, she ended up meeting with me and our cabinet designer a few days later and made some brilliant modifications to our kitchen and master bath designs. She had wonderful suggestions that made the spaces much more usable. She designs around function, not only aesthetics, and has a great ability to uncover how you will really use the space. We could not have done this project without Elizabeth. Not only is she a great designer she used to work in construction so once we had our design she created a groundplan for us to give to our contractor. Elizabeth was very conscious of our budget and helped us pick materials that not only looked great but did not break the bank. Even though we chose to not have her run the project she was always a phone call (or email) away.

Elizabeth did a fantastic job! I initially hired her to help with decorate and pick paint colors four our house. She did such an incredible job that I also had her decorate my office. Ellie is fantastic. Truly. I moved here from the Bay Area and was looking for a designer with great taste to help me furnish a large portion of my home. Ellie came over to the house and discussed everything with me in our initial meeting. We discussed my likes / dislikes (I do have some opinions!), and we subsequently met up together to look at / buy furniture. She also did a really great job at drawing up designs for a custom entertainment center and soliciting bids. I hired her in late 2014 and worked with her for over 6 months on various projects including furniture placement, furniture purchase, custom design work, expertise on interior and exterior paint colors, consultation on lighting fixtures, consultation on new lighting placement and much more. I would highly, highly, highly recommend Ellie. She's very upfront with her pricing (I've told her should should charge a ton more - she's top notch), and her follow through and eye for design are the best. I plan on using her in the future as more projects come up. Oh, and the cherry on top is that Ellie is just a fantastic person.

My review for Elizabeth P. Lord (Ellie) is long overdue. When we decided to convert our family bath into a separate en suite master bath and guest bath last fall, we hardly knew where to start. I began looking at tile patterns, vanities, and lighting long before we had a good sense of our desired bathroom layout and design. We interviewed general contractors with real “can-do” attitudes, but felt we continued to lack a road-map to get us through this whole process. Finding Ellie and calling her early-on, turned out to be our single best-move during our entire remodel. Ellie took the time to understand our dreams, our personal tastes, and our budget. She helped to provide the road-map and guidance we were looking for. Ellie did a terrific job developing three possible design layouts for us, and then worked with us to pick and finalize the perfect design. Ellie provided a wealth of tips and information on the standard measurements required for bathroom design, and the modern, preferred heights and locations for lights, soap insets, shower seats, etc. Ellie helped remove the guess-work from our remodel, and gave us a great deal of confidence that our final design would please us and enhance the overall value of our home. When we finally hired a general contractor, we were better able to communicate our project plans and wishes, and the contractor relied heavily on all the drawings and information provided by Ellie. Our new bathrooms look and feel like hotel spas! We love them and could not be happier. We found Ellie’s rates to be very reasonable (which was very important to us), and there were no hidden costs. After living abroad for almost twenty years we were faced with the daunting task of a complete remodel of our tired and out of date home.
